For us, producing pure wines means working with nature in a responsible and honest way. We use no synthetic chemicals, keep inputs minimal, we use exceptional grapes, and we take measured actions. Each cuvée reflects our aim for bright fruit, balance, and depth, without shortcuts.

The foundations of our philosophy are revealed through a cultivation approach that stays as close as possible to the living world, from harvesting the grapes when perfect ripeness to bottling. At every stage in the creation of our wines, we are committed to preserving purity: no synthetic products, permanent natural or sown grassing, low yields (40hl/ha on average for pinot noir, 45hl/ha for chardonnay), selection of the finest grapes, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, light sulphiting if necessary (20mg of free SO2 for reds and 25mg for whites at bottling), long maturation in containers carefully chosen according to the vintage, which never alter the fruit... So many elements that contribute to the purity and subtlety of our wines, our ever-watchful eye and our ever-light hand, to preserve the living and not alter the very essence of the fruit.

This attention to detail, this rigor that begins at the foot of the vine, is applied to all our wines, not just the 1er Crus. It's a shared vision, with no compromises and no shortcuts, to which we all adhere within the estate. Year after year, it takes us higher and higher, and is the signature of Domaine Joblot: pure, slender wines, balanced between concentration and minerality, with dazzling fruit and remarkable length. They are ready to be enjoyed upon opening (and become even more expressive after decanting), yet age beautifully in the cellar.

Our vision goes far beyond any labels. We combine science with intuition. Each vine is carefully looked after, and we do our best to preserve the ecosystems and soils around us. Clear, precise work in the vineyard helps to keep the terroir alive and the wines sincere, all with the goal of building a sustainable future.

We are committed to a business model that puts people and life at the heart of every decision we make. Although we are well on the path to organic certification (in progress since 1 April 2024), our actions in the vineyard and cellar go much further than just the label. Our expertise in soils, knowledge of our vineyards and cycles of the vine are based on experience, ongoing training and science (soil,must and petiolarian analyses, etc.). They also rest on a constant search for ways to improve our practices, enabling us to limit treatments as much as possible and preserve the living organisms within our rows. Like gardeners, we pay particular and rigorous attention to each vine plant, always with the aim of producing the best grapes possible. Our approach is complete, sincere, wholehearted and global.

Every action we take on a plot of vines must have a purpose and an operational reality. Each time we make a change to the technical itinerary, we try to measure the benefit, but we also assess the impact, so that our choices are well-founded and made with a clear conscience. Plant covers or green manure are used only if the specific situation of the plot requires it – otherwise we prefer natural grassing. The application of soil amendments is tailored to the specific needs of each plot unit, based on analyses and observations. All while adapting to climate conditions of the year. Whenever possible, we implement experimental protocols on dedicated plots to understand the impact of certain practices over the medium term. We plant hedges to create areas of biodiversity and corridors to recreate an ecosystem linking us to the Givry forest, and we grind our vine shoots instead of burning them to conserve the organic matter produced on the plot and avoid producing additional greenhouse gases.

We are also looking to the future by studying the principles of regenerative hydrology, rethinking our planting densities and working on the eco-design of our packaging: reducing the weight of bottles, eliminating adhesives, shortening capsules... Whenever we have the opportunity, we take part in research projects within our sector and engage in discussions across the various networks we are a part of, because we believe that only through collective effort can we find solutions to current and future challenges.

At Domaine Joblot, it’s the people who bring life to the wines and the estate. Everyone has the space to learn, grow and contribute. Shared knowledge, training, and a low-hierarchy, collaborative organisation create an atmosphere that is joyful, supportive, and deeply vibrant.

In addition to the ecological dimension, an integral part of how our estate operates, we take great care to ensure that the men and women who work on the land find meaning in their tasks. We do our utmost to put in place tools to reduce drudgery and improve the working comfort of our teams. Our flat hierarchical structure also allows for strong synergies between the various business lines, as well as providing each team member with daily stimulation.

The Joblot estate also encourages all its team members to improve their skills through training courses, such as Terry who recently completed a training in dry stone wall construction, Jeanne who is now well-versed in regenerative hydrology, and Jean whose training in mechanics will undoubtedly add value to the whole team. We're proud of our compassionate approach, which always supports the operational needs of our business while respecting our team members.

Committed to the living world around us, we choose to work locally, responsibly, and collectively. An ethical, positive, and concrete way of making wine that brings people together.

While we put in place as many initiatives as possible to promote the comfort of our team members, we believe that the commitment of a company, regardless of its size, should extend beyond its own walls. This is why we work hard to build social connections: taking part in community events in our commune, welcoming the curious to our cellar or for a walk in the vineyards, hosting students from secondary school to university to share our knowledge, and always looking to the future to consider every decision from a social, societal and ethical point of view.

Finally, we adopt an environmentally and socially responsible approach in all our practices. To make our wines accessible to as many people as possible, we have just launched a more affordable cuvée, as well as a new system of returnable bottles targeting the local market within 200km of the estate. We make it a point to constantly question our supply chains and our entire value chain in order to work with local partners who produce in France and who share our philosophy and values, so that together, we can make a difference.
